At the tender age of 17 months, he's full of wonder and amazement--a bundle of energy, examining everything. And his parents, James and Mercedes wouldn't have it any other way.

"We can't imagine life without our little boy," said Mercedes. "He's our whole world, one of the very best things that's happened in our lives."

Mercedes and James became pregnant with their "miracle baby" after going through in vitro fertilization. "We first visited Dr. Alexander in February of 1998, and I was pregnant by July," said Mercedes. "It was an extraordinarily special and emotional time."

Now, with a one and a-half year old scurrying about the house, everyday is a new and wonderful adventure.
